This is very known issue between CSF and ftp and it hangs while we change directory through ftp so this is what I tried to get this fixed.

Server the follwoing line in /etc/pure-ftpd.conf

Port range for passive connections replies. - for firewalling.

and simply comment it.

Then restart FTP and CSF and FTP should be working fine now.
